Joseph Delteil’s 1926 Joan of Arc book; Delteil is also the writer of the 1928 landmark silent movie “The Passion of Joan of Arc.”

This is an odd, impassioned poetic vision of Joan’s life from the cradle to the grave. The narrator is very present, and the writing style wanders between a history book, a novel, a poem or a sermon. It’s pretty cool, if you like that sort of thing.
